My rough draft of my artist statement

I began this piece by finding what I think is interesting to me. When I work with things that interest me, then it really shows the person that I am. Some things that interest me are bright colors, things that are abstract and out-of-the ordinary. When I work with bright colors, I am reminded about my personality. I am very outgoing and I don’t like to see things that are dull and dreary. And when my work is going well, I’m filled with a sense of accomplishment because I’ve completed a task on my own. When people see my work, I’d like for them to think of me as someone who’s different from the rest. I don’t want to be the exact replica of another artist.

My Progress of My Digital Collage. .

My digital collage is coming along. It takes time and a lot of brainstorming. It's also a lot of work but I know that I'll get there. I just hope that my project comes out as I have visioned it. I'm also having fun in the process of making it, as you can see. :)

My College Fair Experience.*

The college fair that I went to Tuesday was fun. I got a lot of information about different colleges. There were many schools that I saw and the information that they provided was very helpful. The schools were the Illinois Institute of Art and Lexington College. Those are the two schools that are really important to me because their majors evolve around Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management.

The Curator: Lisa Dorin :)

Today, a curator named Lisa Dorin came to talk about the Sharon Hayes. It was very interesting to see what she had to say about the piece she did. I learned a lot from her personally coming out and explaining what the exhibit was mainly about. I had fun learning and speaking with her and I hope to see her again.

Yesterday in TeenLab, we learned how to use a website called Garage Band. It is a website where you can make sounds and record voices and things. It is something that I have never heard about but it is very fun. I can't wait to use it next week! Today, we had an Art DJ that DJ'd about Sharon Hayes. It was different for me because I am a very visual person and this was all about sounds. But I've learned to understand her purpose. It was a different experience.

Rouge. .

Rouge means red in French. This is a very nice digital collage. I want mines to be similar to that but put my own little twist on it. The project we did Monday was similar except our main color was blue. But I can't wait to do my own! I'm so excited!!

My Very First Collage: Museum Edition.

This collage was all about framed artwork. I thought that this would be a great project because people frame things that are of importance. So I just wanted to know why the artists framed some of these artworks. But I did learn a lot along the way and I hope to learn more. The main point of this project were to take pictures of things in the museum and then make a collage out if it. And once we did that, we had to take the museum staff to the areas we photographed and talk about why we chose those artworks or paintings. It was a very fun experience and it helped us get to know the museum staff as well.
